Asghar Khan
Asghar Khan was born in Kenya in 1954. He moved to Slough with his mother and sisters in 1968. After studying at Portsmouth University Mr Khan worked for several companies in Slough including Panasonic. He has also been involved with Slough Hockey Club for many years and now volunteers coaching the sport.
Slough has seen many sports teams and sporting activities in the town over the years. Slough Social Centre was used as a base for hundreds of clubs including sports teams for everything from badminton, boxing and even roller skating!
This photograph shows a team from Slough Hockey Club in 1938. The club still runs today and have won many titles in competitions over the years.
