Arshad Gamiet

Arshad Gamiet was born near Johannesburg, South Africa. He grew up in Cape Town during Apartheid. He moved with his wife children to Leicester in 1978. He worked for a publishing company and after 3 years he moved to London to work for Islamic Press Agency and when the company relocated to Farnham Common he also moved and spent 2 years in Farnham Common before moving to Slough.

Farnham Common is a village just north of Slough.

Before the 1830s it was known as Farnham Royal Common.
The small village expanded greatly in the 1800s with the population more than doubling between 1885 and 1905 according to Census figures.
